Originally developed for sports and athletic competition, sweatshirts were primarily made of wool from the 1900s through the 1920s. As washing machines became more common, cotton versions began to appear. In their early days, because they were strictly for sports, they were almost exclusively white or heather gray. Over time, however, colors like navy and red were introduced—partly to meet the needs of schools or to distinguish between teams. Given this historical context, we have chosen to offer this jacket exclusively in heather gray.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe most notable feature is the small, open-ended zipper. We have used a \"No. 3\" zipper—the smallest size currently available in Japan.
