Sakemaru at the 2025 Harvest Festival.

This is Sakemaru, who will be updating his blog after Halloween 2025.
So I decided to title my blog "Harvest Festival."
This Halloween event at the end of October,
It originated from the ancient Celts' autumn harvest festival...
It also became established as a religious ritual to exorcise evil spirits.
I usually write my blog in sections based on the 24 solar terms, but...
There's something I want to tell you urgently today,
I'm uploading this in celebration of the harvest festival (Halloween).

Actually, I bought a lot of old, big items ...
I finally got it repaired so that it could be put on display in the store.
I would like to report that.

So let me introduce it to you right away!

First, in the 1950s,
Low iron mesh telephone rack.

About 30-40 years ago, when I mainly dealt in American junk...
This item was commonly found in American thrift shops.
It takes time and effort to apply the baked black paint (some parts are peeling).
At the top is a rotary dial telephone.
The box-shaped area below contains the yellow pages,
This is the common usage.
In the films of the 1950s,
It sometimes appears as an indoor item.
Considering shipping costs and the strong dollar, it's extremely cheap.
The price is ¥13,200 (including tax).

Next up...
"Clown" wall ornament from the 1950s-60s.

The three-dimensional painting is framed and contained,
Sold as a pair.
Pair: ¥44,000 (including tax)
What is a clown?
As you know, it refers to a clown that appears in circuses and other places.
From flashy costumes and facial makeup,
It also plays an important role in the play.
In the 1950s, the masks used in the theatre were called "two-face masks."
(Comedy & Tragedy)" became a huge hit,
Along with this, a large number of clown motifs also became available.
It's becoming rare to see pairs of items from that time on the market , so
Why not take this opportunity?
I don't think we'll see many of these in the future (they're collectible).

And this might be the rarest one.
1940s,
A masterpiece of tropical deco
Mirror framed painting "PARROT".

I'm sorry that I can be seen in the mirrors around the photo (lol)...
It's a wonderful piece!
Tropical motifs framed in these mirrors are
It became popular in Florida from the 1930s onwards.
Art Deco style blended with tropical elements,
Tropical Deco became established as an art genre.
In addition to the parrot, the central picture also features
The range was diverse, including flamingos and panthers.
An item that remains popular among collectors to this day.
I don't think it comes on the market very often.
Sold as is for 77,000 yen (including tax).

And now we come to the lamps that were difficult to repair.
First,
A tri-color floor lamp from the 1950s-60s.

From above...
Comes with glass shades in blue, beige and lemon.
The switch is a rotary switch.
It has been erased.

Once you turn the switch,

The top two lights will come on.
And then all the lights come on.
There was no problem with the electrical parts themselves...
Part of the socket inside the bottom lemon-colored shade is missing.
This missing part is fastened to the shade with a wood screw.
The socket itself is not fixed and moves a little.

I took it all apart and repaired it,
Since it's an American-made socket, there's nothing that fits,
This part was abandoned for repair.
However, these days there are LED light bulbs that generate almost no heat,
If you wear it, there's no problem.
that's why…
It's a floor lamp, so I would normally like to pay around 150,000 yen,
This individual this time
¥88,000 (including tax)!
This is a super special offer!
If you think you can repair a socket yourself, this is a great deal!

And now the main event!
In the early 1950s,
Atomic Style Dual Table Lamp!

The lampshade appears to be unevenly crossed and cut diagonally.
The arm that protrudes from the brass base has
Beautifully polished abstract wood parts.
The shade also features a Jackson Pollock-style pattern.
This table lamp has an incredible atomic style!

But here's the thing.
It was extremely bad...

Once the repair is complete,
As you can see, only the right bulb lights up (lol)

This is due to a poor contact in the switch.
When I took it apart and put it back together, both lights worked (lol).

It's an atomic looking and very cool lamp.
But the interior was in a bad state.
So I took it all apart and replaced all the wiring.

The cord has deteriorated and fallen apart.
The felt on the back is made of 100% wool, so it's eaten away by moths and is falling apart.
And finally the repair procedure reaches the socket.
Then, a great switch appeared!

An insulator with a ceramic bottom!
Such parts are used,
Probably the very early 1950s!
(Bakelite was the mainstream in the 1950s)
And because it was complete,
This part is reused as is.

There was also something strange attached to the outlet, so I cut it off.
And from my collection parts,
Fitted with a power outlet of roughly the same age.
The cover is made of insulating rubber sheet.
Draw a pattern and cut it out.

All the cords inside the base were also rerouted.
Of course, all the connectors have been replaced with new ones.
However, the black, disc-shaped rotary switch at the top of this photo...
Poor contact.
This part is not available in Japan so I can't fix it (tears)

So I cut a new piece of felt and sealed it.
The shade is also distorted,
Only one light bulb is lit...
I would normally like to spend about 150,000 yen on this lamp, but
¥55,000 (including tax)!
Super bargain price!

All are one-of-a-kind vintage pieces from the 1950s.
All are currently on display at Dry Bones Tokyo store.
The price is based on the assumption that you will take it home.
We cannot ship.
Therefore, it is not listed in the online store.
Sorry.

Please hurry.
