2025年大寒の酒丸。

Sakemaru for the coldest day of 2025.

This is a blog from 2025, after the coldest time of the year.
In the last blog…
"The coldest period is from Little Cold to Great Cold and around the beginning of spring."
I wrote something like that, but...
Contrary to expectations, it has been quite warm these past few days.
So, I was organizing the warehouse, which I hadn't been able to do at the end of the year.
Then,
I found quite a few nostalgic books and vintage items that I had purchased a long time ago.
So, today's blog will start by introducing some of those bargains.

First…
Everyone loves the culture, Teds.
This is Ted's signature jacket.

The so-called Ted's jacket
Educated people may call it an Edwardian jacket.
My personal point here is,
Shawl collar.

There are many Ted's jackets with notch lapels,
The shawl collar has a slightly dressier image,
Looks like Teds.
The perfect pairing for this jacket is with creepers like these.

Two-tone creepers .
An evolved style of the term "Edwardian Dandy."

Next up is Euro Vintage...
Rather, it is a European antique vest.
Probably made in France in the 1910s or 1920s.
So maybe it should be called a gilet rather than a vest.

This vest also has a shawl collar.

A type of vest worn as an inner layer for a tuxedo.
So formal,
So it's a shawl collar.

The real deal: an authentic 1950s tuxedo.

The material is silk shantung.
Absolutely wonderful material.

It's a social outfit,
It's still a shawl collar.

And now the nightgown.

Forbidden argyle print.
The same print as the famous gabardine jacket (a treasured collection).
And of course, a shawl collar.

What is a nightgown?
This garment originally evolved from the tuxedo worn in high society.
A jacket for aristocrats to relax in at home,
This is the kind of print it was made in the 1950s (rare case).

Finally, we would like to introduce these three pieces.

This is an ultra rare 3 piece mariachi suit.
Also known as "Charo Suit"
Costumes worn by mariachi musicians.

For the front fitting,
It has such a beautiful decorative button.

And this jacket too
It's still a shawl collar.

and…
Here are some vintage shawl collars that have come out of the warehouse:
I've listed them.
It's something I have surprisingly lol
How do I love shawl collars?
A collection that is easy to understand.

Why did I introduce these?
I wanted to introduce this new jacket.
Tada!
Border smoking jacket!

Yellow-based border and

Orange-based border,
Available in two colors.
This border fabric and
The napped flannel fabric used for the collar and cuffs is
Both are rare items discovered in dead stock.
But both were short...
The two-tone switch was a great success!

As I wrote in the vintage introduction above...
The original shawl collar is
Quite elegant and formal design.
Originally a design for aristocrats and high society,
That's what led to the Ted's jacket and tuxedo,
It has evolved into nightgowns and mariachi suits.
(Teds was a group in the 1950s who imitated the clothing of the early 1900s, the period when King Edward VII reigned in England.)

The shawl collar is elegant and formal,
I'd like to try wearing it in a casual style.

With elegant decorative buttons,
Evil body design.

Even though it is covered with piping everywhere,
A two-tone cut that cannot be hidden.
And above all, the simplicity of a single button.
This jacket is
I'd like to wear it for a night out.
This enchantment,
It's guaranteed to stand out.

and…
Dry Bones' existing products include:
There were surprisingly many shawl collars, so I'd like to introduce them to you.
First, this.

Shawl collar denim jacket .
This jacket is in the style of the US Navy in the 1940s.
This was clearly a different style from the naval trends of the time.
Perhaps the trend towards elegance and formality is influencing this.

And this too.

Wool Melton shawl collar jacket .
This wool jacket has a western feel.
Maybe a mariachi jacket,
Maybe it has some Mexican elements to it.

And this too!

Moleskine storm coat .
This storm coat is
There may be no winter clothing that is more elegant!
The mouton material,
It makes the shawl collar stand out even more.

everyone,
Just one thing,
Try wearing a shawl collar.
I'm sure you'll love it.

postscript.
When I was organizing the warehouse,
I came across a photo book published in Japan in the 1980s.
There are lots of shawl collars in there too!

I'm getting older,
If you have been exposed to this culture,
You'll know what photo book it is at a glance.
The answer will be posted on my Instagram!
See you later!
