2025年立秋の酒丸。

Sakemaru at the beginning of autumn in 2025.

Sakemaru appears in August 2025 to make an emergency announcement.
Because something incredible has been completed ,
In order to inform all Dry Bones fans as soon as possible,
I've decided to update my blog.
Let's get straight to the point.

Do you know this magazine?

Brutus was released in 1981.
The title is
"The radical oldness of the 50s style is new"!!!
Inspired by the contents of this magazine,
For many people, their future lives have already been decided.
I am one of them.

For example, this page.

An interview page with Cream Soda's president, Yamazaki.
The writing is by Morinaga himself, making this a truly impressive lineup.
(This sentence really draws you in.)
And the photos are so gross!
What's this photo of the bedroom in the middle?
I was also surprised by the pink leopard print on the walls...
The mobile pattern curtain fabric used for the bed cover!
This is amazing!!

There is also a page for a furniture store called Virginia's in LA.

The two photos at the bottom are especially amazing.

On top of a chest with a bent handle,
A crazy 1950s item!
What's with the pink Two-Face?
A ceramic figurine?

On the perversely curved table,
A palette-shaped ashtray and a Mondrian-patterned vase!
The pink sofa is amazing!

Like this...
Through the magazine Brutus
I was a first-year high school student with a strong desire to visit America in the 1950s.
Then, after graduating and moving to Tokyo, I found out about this book.

The foreign book "MID-CENTURY MODERN" is an ultra-masterpiece!
And in it was this photo.

Of course, many other photos that appeared in Brutus are also included.
Brutus and Mid-Century Modern,
These two books are still my bible.

Time passed... and it was last summer, 2024.
Looking for planning materials,
I was flipping through the Montgomery Ward collection (Spring/Summer 1955) and ...
I found a page for curtain fabric with this pattern!

Woah!
What, what is this!
Isn't this the same pattern as the mobile hanging over Yamazaki-san's bed at home!!!
There were so many colors available!
Read the product description carefully.

What, um...
MOBILE is...
Various sizes, shapes,
A smart geometric print with suspended colour shapes that give it a three-dimensional look.
For modern interiors.
Width 48 inches (approximately 122 cm),
Vertical pattern repeat 22 inches (approximately 56 cm).
Available colors: gray, green, wood tone
The fabric width (110cm in Japan) and repeat feed are a little different from what we have in Japan today...
Maybe if I could get the actual item,
Maybe I can make it...
Well, a dream I've had since high school has come back to mind.

Only at times like that...
I got it...

Vintage mobile pattern curtains.
And it's the same color as Yamazaki's!

Give color instructions to the fabric store.
Pick up the colors used in all the patterns,
Each color is also indicated.
After several months of twists and turns, the sample is complete.

The sample is exactly beige.

The gray background that appears in Montgomery Ward.

And then there's "Wood Tone," which was released by Montgomery Ward.
(It's interesting that even though it's supposed to be a geometric pattern, it ends up being a wood tone, a color that worships nature.)
Dry Bones decided to call it Pink.

Because it cannot be completed unless it matches the width of the fabric and the repeat feed in Japan,
Reduced by 17%.
The one underneath is vintage,
The scraps on top are samples.
Slightly smaller pattern,
The color is almost the same!

And in our warehouse...

The scene was like this.
I want to tell my high school self this.
"Your idea is complete!"
This fabric is…
In addition to directly managed stores,
All business partners in Japan,
You can also purchase it at our Dry Bones online shop (1 meter increments, non-returnable).
Titled "Fabric Mobile" !!!

People whose lives were determined by Brutus and midcentury modern at the time!
We look forward to your order!!!

Plus a little pride.
A photo of a wall clock featured in Mid-Century Modern.

And here's a photo of the bathroom entrance in my house.

A photo of Virginia's featured in Midcentury Modern.

A photo of our front door.

And there was two-faced pottery that was only featured in Brutus.

Our dining room shelves.

It's easy to see how much I loved this book.
