チノパンを比較してみました

I compared chinos

Good evening, this is Makino.

The other day, I found this sticker on some tableware I was thinking of buying for home use.

Late Meiji period!
That would be around 1907-1912. So old.

It's nice to reminisce about those times and sip it slowly with some snacks.

Well, what I'll be talking about today is chino trousers.

It has been expanding since before

DP-835 41 Khaki type Trousers

It was restocked a while ago.

However, recently, a new type of chino pants has arrived.

DP-870 The Civil War type Chino cloth Trousers

It will be.

They are all lined up in the pants section online,
Some people may feel a bit confused by the similarities.

So today I'm going to compare these two.

First of all.

Both are the same fabric.

There is a slight color difference when comparing it with the online page,

It's the same fabric and color. I'll fix it later.

And, I think the best way to understand the historical background is to read the product descriptions on each page.

The DP-835 41-Khaki is a WWII era model.

The new model is a pair of trousers that dates back to the Civil War.

The Civil War took place between 1862 and 1865. That's right! The introduction about the late Meiji period was just a prelude, but...

It goes back even further than that. Interesting.

Leaving aside the historical study, what I want to talk about is the silhouette.

I will comment on each detail.

First of all, as you can see, the Civil War is thicker overall than the 41 Khaki.

The 41 Khaki tapers from the lower thigh.

Civil War goes down almost straight away.

Try them on and compare.

The Civil War one already looks thicker from the thighs to the hem.

The 41 Khaki trousers are also quite wide, but when placed next to each other they don't look that way.

Next is the hem width.

I wear size 30, but the hem width of the 41 Khaki is 24.5cm.

In comparison, the Civil War is 29cm long. That's 4.5cm thicker!

It may be the best ever.

The width is the same up to the knee, but if you look at the width of the hem below the knee,

You can see that there is quite a difference.

Here's a comparison of each part.

Civil War comes with suspender buttons.

On the other hand, belt loops did not exist in this era,
It would be more accurate to say that it comes with a belt loop for ease of use.

One additional note here.

Please compare the waist size in the image above.

The same waist size The 41 Khaki is made larger.

Please carefully check the size specifications on each page and do not be bound by the size indicated.

Please choose the size that fits your waist size.

Next, the thickness of the belt loops and whether or not there are hip pockets.

Also with or without a cinch back.

Finally, there is a slight difference in the curve at the base of the slash pocket.

The curved cut is somehow classic and cool.

But the functional, minimalist 41 Khaki is also a good choice.

Which one would you choose?

Well, I'll leave it here for now.
