2022年大暑の酒丸。

Sakemaru during the great heat of 2022.

We are now in the second half of July.
Tomorrow, July 23rd, is Daisho, one of the 24 solar terms, and is said to be the hottest day of the year.
This year, July 23rd also falls on Doyo-Ushi Day.
That's why it's hot...

The heat has caused our Monstera to grow rapidly.
When I bought it last spring, it was still just a seedling, but after a year it has grown to a size that looks like it will reach the ceiling.
The leaves grow towards the entrance in search of sunlight, making the hallway inside the house difficult to walk through.

Therefore, we decided to take measures that are unique to the tropical region of Tateyama.
That is... planting it in the garden lol
Tateyama City has the same average annual temperature as Miyazaki, so I thought it might be possible to grow a Monstera in the ground, and gave it a try.

Prune the branches of your garden trees, dig a hole directly underneath them, and plant the tree in the ground.

The leaves that were growing toward the entrance are now parallel to the ground (lol)

But about two weeks later...

It's already looking up nicely.
I can see it getting bigger every time I look at it!
fun!

So, that's why today's blog is about Monstera.

Last November, I discovered some deadstock fabric for export at a certain fabric store.
That's the Monstera pattern!

Originally, the plant called Monstera itself,
I loved the southern food, but...
When I moved to Tateyama,
It was definitely one of the plants I wanted to have in my home.
Tateyama is home to Aloha Garden Tateyama (formerly Minamiboso Paradise), the largest botanical garden in Chiba Prefecture.
In the largest house,
There is a huge Monstera planted there.

It is a giant tree, probably over 10 metres tall.
However, since Monstera is a climbing plant,
This plant normally grows by clinging to giant trees in tropical rainforests.
At the Aloha Garden,
The house is enlarged by making clever use of the reinforced concrete staircase inside.
It really looks like a "tropical monster" and is really cool lol
I would love to see it grow huge in my garden like that.

So we used this deadstock fabric,
We create tropical cotton Hawaiian shirts.
Short Sleeve Hawaiian Shirt "MONSTRA"

Yellow background.

Another white background.

Please take a good look!
This is a perfect pattern match!
Not only the pockets, but the front is also perfect!
You can't even see the seams, it looks like a pullover.

When it comes to tropical print fabrics, Hawaiian shirts are the classic.
And because it's made of cotton, it's easy to wash!

So far, there doesn't seem to be any shortage of sizes for either color.
Please come early.

The coin laundry I often use has a cafe attached to it.
Hawaiian antique, tropical feel.

The store creates a tropical atmosphere with monstera and anthurium (artificial flowers).

The restaurant is called "MAKANA" and their shakes are currently very popular!

What do you think of this tropical feel?
This is Tateyama, it was delicious!
If you come here, please stop by!
