2022年立冬の酒丸。

Sakemaru marks the beginning of winter in 2022.

The beginning of winter according to the 24 solar terms occurred on November 8th.
This is Sakemaru.
As the name suggests, winter is upon us.
It's getting quite cold in the mornings and evenings.

The southern tip of the Boso Peninsula where I live is still experiencing warm weather,
The other day I went sightseeing in northern Kanto.

The autumn leaves season has already begun in northern Kanto.
I enjoyed the beautiful scenery.
My purpose was to go to the Mashiko Pottery Market, but...

The place I wanted to see the most was the Hamada Shoji Memorial Mashiko Reference Museum.

He was a man who contributed greatly to the Mingei movement and made Mashiko famous as a town of pottery.
The stone storehouses made from Oya stone are truly impressive!

And after that,
Torinokosanshojinja Shrine.

A historic shrine located on the border between Tochigi and Ibaraki prefectures.
It is also a rare shrine that enshrines an owl.

And while passing by, I came across Mitsumaruyama Horinji Temple.

The Daitengu mask is incredibly scary!
Apparently, this temple has a legend of a nine-tailed fox.
Apparently the fox that was killed here was sealed away in a rock on the Nasu Plateau.
The rock broke in March 2022.
It's probably already out in the world (shivering)

The temple I most wanted to visit was Unganji Temple.

Looking up at the mountain gate from the street, across the vermilion bridge over the river, is an ultra-beautiful sight.
And the rocks were really amazing.

Finally, there is the famous Omote Shrine.

The brilliantly colored shrine building is amazing!
A huge statue of Ebisu is also enshrined here.

Anyway, I was touring ancient temples and neglecting the pottery market...
Regarding the first objective, the pottery market,
I will write it down at the end of the blog.

Anyway, back to the main topic.
November marks the beginning of winter in Japan.
So I thought I'd introduce something warm.
Please enjoy TEX-MEX, a must-see this season.

First, here
Native print flannel work shirt!

The people who originally inhabited the so-called American continent,
Northern Eskimos and North American Indians,
It refers to the Mayan civilization south of Central America and the Yaghan people of South America.
Before Columbus discovered the New World (although this was actually propaganda),
People who lived in the Americas.
The designs they spun, carved and painted,
It is a geometric pattern called a native pattern.

Red and…

I tried it in blue.

The reason for printing on cotton flannel material is
It was a big hit in the 1950s.
I dare to do that.
This year's Dry Bones projected the theme onto 1920s work shirts.
In winter, when plain, dark colors tend to prevail,
We offer innerwear with rich colors.

And next up…
New arrivals for the first time in a while,
Aztec pattern bandana!

Close-up of the pattern.

This pattern was restored from my own bandana collection.
Probably a 1960s or 1970s design.
I've been collecting bandanas for a long time...
This pattern has never appeared before or since.
I think it's a pretty rare pattern.
For now, it's just navy blue,
Please digest it quickly so I can make the next color (pleading)

And also...a little glimpse just for those who are reading this blog.

Hawaiian shirt patterns for summer 2023 are:
It's Mexico!!!

Actually, I made this pattern more than 30 years ago.
I found it at a thrift shop in LA (Inglewood, I think).
It's called a treasure hunt.
Then I lost it and completely forgot about it...
Found this while moving luggage during this move!
I'm so happy!
So, it's full of emotion!
perhaps,
We think we will gradually start accepting reservations at our directly managed stores.
Like this year's goldfish,
There's a chance they'll sell out in no time...
Please come early.

And then the harvest at the Mashiko Pottery Market.
The biggest gain is undoubtedly this!

Amazingly, I finally got my hands on some Flame Pottery !
It's not Mashiko ware and it's not even pottery!
In a sense, it's a Japanese native pattern (the plot twist is finally being resolved)!
Jomon pottery (and items inspired by it)
He finally came to my house!

Once again, my collection has grown...
I will never have anything to do with the word "danshari" in my life.
I actually feel like it's more honest now: lol
