2023年立秋の酒丸。

Sakemaru at the beginning of autumn in 2023.

The beginning of autumn came on August 8th.
This is Sakemaru.
According to the calendar, autumn has begun.
Although the summer heat is still lingering,
From now on, autumn will surely be approaching little by little.

In the local Tateyama area, where many old shops remain,
The festival was held the other day.
I used to go to this festival when I was in high school...
This is my first time since moving back to my hometown.
This is the first collaboration between Tateyama Castle, which was completed just before I graduated from high school, and the festival.

It was a fun time meeting classmates and seniors and juniors.
I was showered with drums and flutes.

Well, today I'd like to introduce some clothes that are perfect for the lingering heat of summer.

Long sleeve Hawaiian shirt "Mexico"!

Of course, the material
Made of rayon Fujiette, just like the short sleeves.
The pattern is taken from a vintage piece I own.

Available in two colors like this.

Of course, short sleeve Hawaiian shirts are more popular in the summer...
There are quite a few people who only buy long-sleeved shirts.
A hidden classic item for Dry Bones.

There are several reasons why people prefer long sleeves.
1. When you're in an air-conditioned restaurant, it's cold in short sleeves.
2. Long sleeves are more versatile and can be worn in a variety of situations
3: I want to hide both of my arms, etc.

1 is the same because it's cold in short sleeves.
I was amazed at how warm it can be with just one piece of fabric!

I mainly feel that way though...
If you wear it with long sleeves, it becomes a casual dress when you wear a jacket over it.
Actually, I was at a wedding party for one of our staff members at the Nagoya store the other day.
I wore a linen double-breasted jacket over a long-sleeved Hawaiian shirt.
It looks pretty good, so I recommend it.
Also, from autumn, if you wear a printed T-shirt in the same color as the inner layer,
I think it embodies a higher level of American casual style.

Number 3 is common among my friends...
First of all, people who don't want to get their arms sunburned.
It is mainly common in women.
Also, people with tattoos on their arms.
I want to hide it because I heard that the color can fade if it gets sunburned.
Or maybe they think it's not something to show when out in public.
Also, there are people who have scars on their arms.
This applies to me as well, but I'm someone who is aware that their arms are thin and unattractive.
It's surprisingly common.

So, here's my vintage collection.

First, this.

The famous "HALE HAWAII" multicolored Hawaiian shirt, long sleeves.
It is full of Hawaiian designs such as ukuleles, tropical fish, and palm trees.
Even though the design is like that, the material is rayon crepe,
It has a somewhat Japanese and calm atmosphere.

Number 2.

Hawaiian shirt with western pattern, long sleeves.
A cowboy wearing a ten-gallon hat and a cactus.
A classic long-sleeved Hawaiian shirt with pocket flaps on both sides.

Number 3.

This is a long-sleeved shirt with the famous TIKI pattern.
In addition to TIKI masks,
It depicts the helmets and weapons of Hawaiian royalty.

Number 4.

Hand printed Hawaiian shirt with long sleeves.
Women in swimsuits and flamingos,
Is this a Florida scene?
Long sleeves are rare for this type of item.

What?
There are many classic vintage long-sleeved Hawaiian shirts.

And what's more!
Dry Bones' Hawaiian shirts for this season include:
There are also set products like this!

A Boso fan that matches the shirt!
This Boshu fan is,
A masterpiece from Tateyama that is also designated as a traditional craft.
I asked a craftsman with a workshop to make it for me (I brought my own fabric)!
I think it's one of a kind in the whole world!
A long-sleeved Hawaiian shirt with a matching Boshu fan,
This is an outfit that even a fashionable person from the 1940s could never have pulled off!

And one more thing to report.
Actually, I, Sakemaru...
He plans to start a new business here in his hometown of Tateyama.

To that end, I am steadily purchasing the things I need.
This is the craft bag and desiccant that the products will be put in.
And an electric sealer to seal the bag.
I will be attending a food hygiene manager training course this month.
There are still many things we don't know about this new business.
We appreciate your cooperation!!

see you!
