2024年小寒の酒丸。

Sakemaru in the year 2024.

happy new year.
This is Sakemaru.
Here in Tateyama, the southernmost part of Chiba Prefecture, the weather is clear every day.
If you go to the coast in the morning, you can see Mount Fuji clearly.

Close up.

After that, we went to the shrine for our first visit of the year.

The ceiling of the shrine building at Tsurugadani Hachimangu Shrine, which I have been visiting for a long time, is decorated with dragons of various shapes.
This wood carving was created by the first Goto Yoshimitsu.
This year's zodiac sign is very impressive.
And at this point, it is now the beginning of the coldest period of 2024.
Kokan is the period just before Daikan, the coldest period of the year.
We are now heading into the coldest season.

Now.
Because it's the coldest time of the year,
Introducing the sweaters that give the warmest impression.

The magazine "Clutch" was released around the end of last month .

Did you all see it?
At the beginning, there is a wide collection of vintage items from noisy people.
I was chosen as one of them.

A 1950s fishing print Cowichan sweater.

In the past, they were called killer whales and sharks...
In the first place, most Cowichan sweaters from the 1950s were
Outdoor sports clothing category.
Hence the sports pattern.
Duck print is for hunting,
Horse pattern for riding,
Dancing in western patterns.
Therefore, if it's a sea bass pattern, it's fishing.

Well, here's some trivia about this Cowichan sweater:
Please read it in the magazine Clutch.

Actually, I...
I have so many Cowichan sweaters that I could be called a collector.
That's why we own things like this.

What a different color.
And there are also differences in switching.
This fishing pattern Cowichan sweater is
It is also famous for having a wide variety of colors, even in vintage styles.
Besides the navy and off-white featured in this blog…
I've also seen sax blue, yellow green, and black.
But, it's vintage after all...
The condition is not very good,
The size was quite small,
There were many things I couldn't buy.

This off-white individual is
I bought it more than a decade ago at Kick Out Vintage, a famous store in Nagoya.
The biggest reason for purchasing this is the color scheme!

Unlike the navy blue one,
The placket, hem, and cuffs are all ribbed!
Innovative!
However, it looks pretty flashy.
that's why…
At Dry Bones,
I tried switching it like this.

Cowichan sweater "Seabass".

Without the front switch,
Only the hem and cuffs are color-coordinated.
This gives a nice balance with the collar.
Also, this color is also available.

I've only seen it once before,
The fantastic black version.
The red of the fish's body had faded and turned orange...
Even that is reproduced.

The year 2024 will soon be heading towards the "Great Cold".
Such a cheerful and warm knitted jacket,
What do you think?
There are only a few left.
Please hurry.

and…
I'll just briefly touch on this subject.

It was just after 4 p.m. on January 1st, New Year's Day.
This is the most relaxed time of the year in Japan.
There was a huge tremor that seemed to be aimed at this spot.
The Noto Peninsula earthquake.
The earthquake recorded a magnitude 7 in Suzu City, Ishikawa Prefecture, where the epicenter was located!
Between the Japanese archipelago and the Fossa Magna
In contrast, my city of Tateyama also recorded a magnitude 3 earthquake.

In fact, Suzu City on the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture is
It is very similar to Tateyama City on the Boso Peninsula in Chiba Prefecture (see red circle).
I have a natural affinity with him.
It's a place where I once took my parents on a family trip several decades ago.
Relax in the famous Kaga Onsen hot springs,
Check out the morning market in Wajima.
We also visited a salt-making site in Suzu City.

Because of the similar terrain,
I understand that at this stage, even the few major roads are largely impassable.
In the typhoon that hit the Boso Peninsula in 2019,
A similar situation occurred and we became an isolated island.
And this time,
Landslides and tsunamis,
I hear that the coastline is also rising.
I feel so sorry.
We are now heading into the coldest period of the year.
Life in evacuation shelters will also become more difficult.
As a person on this side,
Supplies cannot be sent unless roads and ports are usable.
So for now, I'll just send my feelings.
Once we are able to transport supplies, we will get started immediately.
I think I'll just have to be patient for a few more days.
Japan's ability to recover from disasters is incredible.
The sheer number of KEPCO vehicles,
Camouflage-patterned Self-Defense Force trucks,
I still remember how reassuring it was.
Just keep hope in your heart.
People all over Japan are thinking, "I want to do something."
