2024年啓蟄の酒丸。

Sakemaru in the year of the awakening of insects in 2024.

The Awakening of Insects in 2024 has passed.
This is Sakemaru.
What is Keichitsu?
Insects and animals that had been hibernating emerge from their holes.
means.
It's officially spring! That's what it means .
Is it because insects are waking up from hibernation one after another?
Cauliflower with only leaves growing large,
It was covered with holes in no time (sweat)

And then!

Beautiful flower buds had formed inside!
It was huge and we savored it over two days.
There are several other stocks,
As a farmer, I have been delivering to roadside stations.

And today,
We'd like to introduce you to some shirts that are perfect for the arrival of spring.

An open-collar shirt made of Chambray Bee fabric!

This is the beige background.

And this one is gray.

Actually, this shirt has an origin story.

Vintage 1950s.

The brand name is "Vanguard."
Literally it means something like "avant-garde."
At that time,
This kind of fabric was supposed to be avant-garde.

This shirt fabric,
It's actually a dobby chambray, a blend of cotton and rayon.

The red stripes are mainly rayon yarn.
It gives weight and shine.
The fine diamond pattern dobby weave part is cotton chambray.
What is Chambray?
A shirt fabric with color-coded warp and weft threads, as seen in work shirts.
This yarn is then twisted tightly to change the weave,
It is woven into the dobby to create a diamond pattern.
It was truly cutting edge and avant-garde at the time.

And actually…
This type of dobby weave has the most common pattern.
This is it!

If you are an American collector of the 1950s,
This shirt is often called the Sparkle Shirt .
up.

In Japan, collectors are known as "Gira Gira Shirts ."
The material is a blend of rayon and acetate.
I often saw them in vintage clothing up until the 1980s.
Reproductions were also made in rock shops at the time.
Flashy shirts are rarely seen these days.
So as Dry Bones,
That sparkle is expressed in a more avant-garde way through a check and diamond pattern .
This is our recommended item for Spring/Summer 2024.
Please come early.

oh yeah.
I remembered it because it was so shiny...
I found this kind of glitter in an antique.

A Japanese-made cup and saucer from the 1960s.
The silver arabesque pattern sparkles against the white pottery!

Apparently, cups and saucers at that time were sold in sets of five...
This set was unearthed without a single piece missing.
Deadstock, a bargain at ¥1,980 per pair.
We have them lined up at the Dry Bones Tokyo store.
Mail order from other stores is also available.
Now I have all five.
Please come early.
