Friday, June 21, 2024 marks the summer solstice.
This is Sakemaru.
What is the "summer solstice"?
The day with the longest time between sunrise and sunset.
Personally, I feel like half the year has passed on this day.
From now on, the daylight hours will gradually become shorter...
On the weekend just before the rainy season began,
Participate in a flea market hosted by a local gallery.

A flea market organized by a gallery called Taskake .
A Mondrian-style glass building on top of a mountain.
It's incredibly cool ,
It's a place that stands out even locally.
Since I was invited from such a wonderful place...
We set up a stall loaded with products.

My car is packed to the brim (sweat)
The event will be held over two days, Saturday and Sunday.
This will be a nostalgic memory for customers of Dry Bones Osaka.
A Shigaraki ware raccoon is also enshrined.
It was a fun flea market that lasted for two days, even without rain!
Well.
The summer solstice is approaching these days.
Dry Bones has lots of new products arriving every day!
So I'd like to introduce some excerpts.
For details, please contact each store.
First off, this shirt!
Short-sleeved open-collar shirt "SEA HORSE"

It really feels like the 1950s.
A white seahorse pattern on a blue background!
Please pay attention to this part.

I'm taking a photo of the pocket area...
Do you understand?
The pattern matching is so perfect ,
The pockets are camouflaged!
Next, this pattern,
Short-sleeved open-collar shirt "ACTION PAINTING"!

The name "action painting" comes from...
From this person's art scene.
Representative abstract painter of the 1950s
Jackson Pollock.
He uses a technique of dripping paint onto the walls and floors.
It's called action painting.
His style then changed to
Not just textiles...
It also had a major impact on architecture, home appliances, and bookbinding.
Furthermore…
Short-sleeved open-collar shirt "STRAY LEOPARD"!

As the name suggests,
This is "The Lost Leopard."
Leopards are also cats,
I could have chosen the Stray Cats, but...
My conscience wouldn't allow that (lol).

Leopard print on a pale salmon background,
It must have pierced your hearts.
Furthermore,
Short-sleeved open-collar shirt "DANCING SKELTON"!

Really funky,
Dancing skeletons!
An orange skeleton that appears with a fairly high probability.

This is probably a Halloween textile.
The matching of the patterns on the pockets and front is also excellent!
And further on...
Short-sleeved open-collar shirt "FLYING BAT"!

This is also like a skeleton.
Since it involves orange, I guess it's for Halloween.
Skeletons and bats,
He's an essential character for Halloween.
This is also a close-up of the pocket.
The pattern matching is so perfect,
It's so small you can't even tell the pockets exist.
I've quickly introduced five patterns, but...
We also have a variety of new patterns arriving all the time.
In addition to the prints mentioned above...
Abstract prints ,
Indian Madras yarn-dyed check ,
The classic polka dot pattern ,
Rayon fifties patterns, etc.
Furthermore, currently,
We also have a wide selection of denim pants, which we haven't seen in a while .
We also have a large stock of summer hats and caps !
We look forward to your visit.
All of our staff are eagerly awaiting you!!
A continuation of the story at the beginning.
I went to the flea market with my car filled up.
By the time of removal on the second day...

Most of the items for the flea market have been sold!
The chairs and cooler boxes are personal belongings,
Big objects, tools, lamps, raccoons...
It's almost sold!
I am so grateful!!!
And here's a look at the loot from the flea market.

Hannya mask.
It was so cheap,
I thought it was fake plastic...
What a handmade wooden carving!
Apparently, the statue was carved by a relative of the exhibitor in Hiraizumi, Iwate Prefecture...
It seems that it was left in ruins with no successor.
Apparently, they salvaged it just before the house was demolished.
It seems to be a historic item that has been used in Hiraizumi festivals for a long time.
And it's dead stock!!!
From now on,
I don't think you'll ever get a face like this in dead stock.
I made a good purchase.
Oh, that's right.
The printed shirt fabric introduced above,
This is all dead stock too.
Fabric importers import it into Japan,
I buy a lot of fabric that has been left over for various reasons.
The issue of a weak yen and a strong dollar
You won't be able to get it cheaply any more,
Deadstock American imported fabric.
It would be good if you could buy it now.
See you later.
