2024年秋分の酒丸。

Sakemaru of the autumn equinox of 2024.

The beginning of autumn in 2024 has arrived.
This is Sakemaru.
The "hot, hot" complaints are finally over...
It's already well into autumn.
I'm the type of person who reads the newspaper every morning...
I found something interesting in a flyer the other day.

What!
The famous CAINZ
Apparently this year marks the 35th anniversary! (clap clap)
They opened at almost the same time.
I felt a one-sided sense of closeness.

Well.
Today's blog is...
This is a continuation from the previous article, "Shirayuki Sakemaru 2024."
Once you've finished moving the warehouse,
I wrote about the discovery of postcards from the company's founding.
Going back to the opening of the first store on September 28, 1989 ...
Dry Bones Nagoya store opened in 2005.
In 2007, the online shop was launched in earnest.
That's all I've written so far.

So today's blog continues from there.

The head office was relocated on September 25, 2009.
It's the 15th anniversary this week!
The head office in Nakameguro,
We moved to a detached house in Setagaya Daita.
From our office in Nakameguro, which was about 330 square meters,
We moved to an old Showa-era house of 200m2.
These days...
In addition to the Dry Bones brand,
A vintage version of the British brand "Lewis Leathers"
"D Lewis" was also planned and produced by our company .
The big boss of Lewis Leathers
The heated exchanges with Mr. Derek
It feels nostalgic now.
Sometimes I want to drink again.
Also, at the suggestion of a female staff member who has worked at our company for many years,
The company also planned and produced the women's brand "MUBEC" .
What is Mubec?
The brand embodied the concept of "luster" that the female staff member had established as the basis of the project.
The kanji for "gloss" is made up of the radicals "MUSIC" and "BEANS."
It is a coined word that combines the word "color" with "sexiness."
MUBEC with MU (SIC) BE (ANS) C (OLOR).
Among female customers,
I'm glad that there are still many people who wear it.
This woman's retirement from work to care for her family
This brand has come to an end.

And then,
The Fukuoka store relocated on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2015.
Circumstances arose that forced me to leave the Imaizumi property,
I was looking for a new property...
This time, a property came up in Daimyo, the center of Hakata.
It was moved there.
The size was about the same...
The traffic volume in front of it is probably 100 times higher .
It was a move to a property with promising future prospects.

And then 2017.

The Dry Bones brand
All names have been standardized using this name design (with some exceptions) .
Until then...
1950s items are Black Label,
Volstead label for 1920s items,
British (in the style of D Lewis) is Green Label,
Other miscellaneous goods (sunglasses, badges, etc.) are Yellow Label...
What a division.
However, there are items that combine the characteristics of each,
Items that don't belong anywhere
Items that I would like to try more experimentally,
There were some things that I couldn't see the point in dividing into four categories.
It was a waste of time to worry about that...
So we decided that it was time to put everything together!
It will then move in a positive direction.

And 2020 was a major turning point for Japan.

April 1, 2020.
Dry Bones Fukuoka branch becomes independent.
Wakasugi, a staff member who has worked at Dry Bones Fukuoka since the store opened in 2001,
I have happily become independent.
So all the fixtures are loaned.
All products are sold on consignment.
All real estate contracts were concluded directly with the client.
In other words,
If you keep doing what you've always done,
From now on, instead of salary, I will receive sales commission.

It was going to be a solid income.

However.
This year, Japan...
Or rather,
The new coronavirus has raged all over the world.
"You can't go out."
"Don't come into contact with people."
"Don't gather in large numbers"
In running a clothing store,
We have entered a life of fatal self-restraint.
Dry Bones stores are:
As you can see, we have been in business for a long time.
We received government subsidies (although applying for them was extremely difficult),
I managed to make ends meet.
However, the Fukuoka store, which opened this year,
It is not eligible for any grants or subsidies ( I still don't understand why ).
The following year, 2021,
The Fukuoka store will be closing after 20 years of history.

After that, Wakasugi, who was the manager and president of the Fukuoka store,
He has now returned to his hometown of Kumamoto and is trying his hand at apparel again.
GRENVILLE TAILORING
It seems they deal in custom-made suits and the like.
If you have a chance to go nearby, please do.

My blog this month is:
I have written this in two parts, covering the period from 1989 to the present.
Looking back , 1989 was the height of the bubble economy .
Two years earlier, in 1987,
Privatized NTT shares were sold.
The stock price was initially 1.19 million.
Two months after its release, the price had risen to 3.18 million yen.
It was also a time when land prices in and around Tokyo continued to rise without any limit.
A true bubble.
It was during this time that Dry Bones opened.
I've seen a lot in these 35 years.
The world has changed dramatically,
Changes are also becoming apparent on a global scale.
Meanwhile,
Something that continues consistently.
This means that"manufacturing is a culture."
Knowing old things,
Research and find something
Project onto something new.
And it is passed on to the next generation.
I think this is what we call "culture."
Learn from Old,
Craft New Things,
Take over to Next.
It's not perfect English and not correct...
What I want to say is this,
It's something that has been consistent all this time.
Just as genes have passed on the characteristics of our ancestors,
We want to connect the culture of the past.

In this flasher,
There's everything I want to keep saying.
Thank you so much for the past 35 years.
And we look forward to your continued support in the future.

This month we are holding our 35th anniversary denim fair.
Although there are only a few days left,
We look forward to your visit.
