The light snow of 2024 has arrived.
This is Sakemaru.
Just light snow,
Mount Fuji is covered in snow,
Apparently it snowed in some areas of the plains.
It has suddenly gotten cold this week,
As usual, I am on a business trip to Osaka and Nagoya.
I always take the Shinkansen to Shin-Osaka Station,
From there, transfer to the Midosuji subway line.
The inside of the Midosuji Line train.
It was a brand new vehicle!
It was my first time riding the almost new subway.
Everything was sparkling clean!
There's a sparkling feeling to it...
We have a set of silk blend tweed in stock,
Introduction.
Here it is,
Silk blend sports jacket "Carmel"!
This beige and
Available in two black colors.
The twill material is mixed with silk and is very shiny.
The characteristics of Nassau jackets, including those from the Carmel brand, are:
As you can see, the top collar protrudes more than the bottom collar .
It's amazing how this alone makes it feel so classic.
This is also a distinctive detail of Carmel.
Cuffs and side vents,
Crank-shaped switch! (This photo is a little hard to see.)
Furthermore,
A large two-hole button commonly known as a "pig nose."
This Carmel Nassau jacket design...
This famous jacket was worn competitively by young people at the time.
Here's why.
For example, Elvis was a huge star at the time.
It's a bit hard to tell because it's a side view, but
The unmistakable off-white carmel.
A rare shot of him enjoying pinball with his collar up.
Or Eddie Cochran.
It's off-white and made of wool.
A teardrop-shaped polo shirt as an inner layer,
Super stylish outfit!
This is where the name Carmel Nassau Jacket comes from.

It was exactly the same,
The woven label on this jacket says "Carmel."
And below that,
It says Hollywood Sportswear .
In other words,
It's a West Coast sports (casual) jacket that represents Hollywood.
This means.
Nowadays, when you say "sports jacket," you probably think of a jersey jacket...
Until around the 1950s,
Sports jackets were becoming more specialized .
This is the story around here,
It's quite interesting to study.
What we who live in 21st century Japan think of as "sports"
Until around the 1950s, what Americans thought of as "sports" was
There is quite a difference!
Also, the origin of the term Nassau jacket is...
Although it is not clear,
Havana, capital of the country of New Providence, an island in the North Atlantic Ocean
It is thought to have originated from Nassau.
1920s,
The Central American region has been developed since the time of Prohibition.
This is an area where gangs have been operating through Florida since that time.
I posted about it in my last blog post...
A scene from a film set in the 1930s.
The man on the right is clearly wearing a Nassau jacket.
(Not likely in Carmel though).
It's a design that wouldn't be out of place if it was worn from this time on.
The original source is probably the Cuban shirt.
And in this jacket,
This time we have two-tuck trousers that can be worn as a set!
It is called the Hollywood Belt.
Truly a part of Hollywood style sportswear!
Classic closure with two pig nose buttons.
It's already the second half of November,
It's almost party season!
Why not try a Hollywood-style setup like this once in a while?
During this business trip, I also visited each of the directly managed stores.
It's been a while since I last visited Dry Bones Osaka .
It was only the second time since the move.
This tin sign,
It seemed like just the other day that it was difficult to install.
But at the Osaka store...
It's the 26th anniversary!
Thank you very much to everyone for your help!
And we look forward to your continued support!
From today, Friday 22nd November to Monday 25th November,
Special sale!
Stay tuned!!!
