The winter solstice of 2024 has arrived.
This is Sakemaru.
Did you all warm up by taking a yuzu bath on the winter solstice?
In Tateyama City, Chiba Prefecture, where I live,
From this time until early spring,
A strong westerly wind called "O-nishi" blows.
that's why…

Mount Fuji boom!
Onishi carries away all the clouds around him,
You can see the magnificent Mt. Fuji from the coast, just a few minutes' walk away!
Onishi blew away the laundry,
I am grateful for this spectacular view of Mt. Fuji.
Such is "Onishi."
A literal translation would be BIG WESTERN ...
Today let's talk about western items.
It's a bit of a forced connection, but...
Finally in stock!
It's been a while
Western mox monk strap shoes!
This time, we have a new color called brown!

To be precise...

The wine leather material we had until now has sold out (lol)
(We only have a few bottles of this wine in stock and they're almost sold out.)
Let's take a look at the design features of these shoes again.
The most distinctive feature is
This embossing on the upper part !

A cow's face seen from the front + the shining stars!
(And the cow has a secret dry bone on its forehead.)
What's more, there is a cow cutout at the opening of the shoe !

The main reason I'm so attached to these shoes is this page.

"Cream Soda Story," published in 1982 ,
One of the illustration pages.
I was a second-year high school student.
This page gave me a culture shock.
"Shoes like this existed in America in the 1950s!"
I was a little bit misbehaving,
I successfully graduated from high school and was able to get a job at a shoe store in Tokyo.
However…
I was constantly being chased by sales quotas and inventory management (obviously),
I have never come across such beautiful shoes.
So I quit after a year.
after that,
I started working at a second-hand clothing store that sells deadstock shoes similar to these.
However,
The store's policy was to reduce the size of its second-hand clothing section.
Furniture and miscellaneous goods became the main focus...
I quit that job too and started working part-time at a family restaurant at night to save up some money.
Then, at the age of 20, I went to the United States for the first time!
And then I came across these shoes!

But they're slightly different from the shoes on that page...
After that, I went to America many times and found these shoes again!

(Sorry about the bad angle of the photo: lol)
We also wanted to recreate the thin leather edge of this deadstock item that has changed over time!

It has turned a green color .
The 1950s shoes I've been collecting since then,
There's still so much more!

My perverse yearning for the 1950s...
From Yamazaki of Cream Soda,
Via illustrator Yasushi Nakayama.
Onishi, it's a big western...
There's even more inside Dry Bones!
First up is the classic 6.5 oz denim western shirt .

For small items,
Silver horseshoe earrings .

There are also printed T-shirts like this that are popular with everyone.

And more!
Newly arrived brass horseshoe ring !

And there are only a few left,
Western yoke, two-flap open shirt made of rayon .

Onishi in Dry Bones will continue to appear one after another in the future!
In today's blog,
This is the end of my blog for this year.
The next one will be in the new year.
Thank you very much for your help this year.
We look forward to your continued support next year.
I wish you a happy new year!
