DS-2348 Koiguchi shirt "Plain"

100% Cotton

Koiguchi shirts have long been worn in Japan as work clothes for craftsmen and as festival attire.

It is called Koiguchi because the cuffs are narrow like the mouth of a carp.

Originally, it was an item that was worn as a set with a belly wrap and loincloths, but after the war in Japan, it began to be worn as a casual Japanese shirt.

Koiguchi shirts have been worn as festival attire and as uniforms at izakayas. In recent years, they have also come to be coordinated with denim, as they go well with indigo dyed garments such as belly wraps.

The shoulders connect directly from the back to form the front.

The stitching makes use of the straight lines unique to Japanese clothing, and since there are no seams at the shoulders, it seems to have been the perfect costume for carrying a portable shrine.

This Koiguchi shirt is made from cotton broadcloth. It is a high-quality shirt fabric that is normally used for dress shirts, and is made from 100-ply broadcloth woven with fine threads at high density.

Available in two classic colors, black and white, it can be coordinated with any outfit.

It can be coordinated with traditional Japanese clothing such as geta and suede to create a "Japanese summer" look, and is also a popular item to wear under a leather jacket, like the post-war gangsters.
