L/S Hawaiian Shirt "Dogu"
DS-2485 L/S Hawaiian Shirt “Clay Figurine”
Rayon Fujiette
Size 42 is sold out.
This collection pays homage to Hawaiian shirts from the 1940s and 1950s and is made using original textiles.
The shape of the shirt itself is just like the Hawaiian shirts from the 1940s and 1950s, with a long pointed collar and long sleeves to protect from the sun.
The material is the same as back then, rayon Fujiette, which is popular for its smooth feel.
The textile design was created from scratch by Dry Bones.
The motif is the clay figurine, which is a representative culture of the Japanese archipelago. Six types of clay figurines are scattered throughout the piece, including the famous Jomon Venus, Jomon Goddess, and heart-shaped clay figurines.
The background features the famous Jomon pottery design, arranged in a wallpaper-like color scheme.
This is a one-of-a-kind textile, and we are proud to say that Dry Bones is the only company in the world that has printed it on rayon fujit and incorporated it into a 1950s style Hawaiian shirt.
Originally, Hawaiian shirts were made to convey Hawaiian culture, and many of them have Japanese-style patterns created by Japanese immigrants.
If that is the case, it seems odd that a clay figurine pattern representative of Japan has not existed until now.
