DS-2485 L/S Hawaiian Shirt “Dogu”
Rayon Fujiette
BLACK is sold out.
Sizes 38, 40, and 42 are sold out.
This collection was designed using original textiles, paying homage to Hawaiian shirts from the 1940s and 1950s.
The shape of the shirt itself is reminiscent of Hawaiian shirts from the 1940s and 1950s, with a long pointed collar and long sleeves to protect from the sun.
The material is the same as back then, rayon Fujiet, a material that is popular for its smooth feel.
The textile design was created from scratch by Dry Bones.
The motif is "clay figurines," a culture representative of the Japanese archipelago. There are six types scattered throughout the piece, including the famous Jomon Venus, Jomon Goddess, and heart-shaped clay figurines.
The background features the famous Jomon pottery design, arranged in a wallpaper-like color scheme.
This is a one-of-a-kind textile, and we are proud to say that Dry Bones is the only company in the world that has printed it on rayon Fujiette and incorporated it into a 1950s-style Hawaiian shirt.
Originally, Hawaiian shirts were created to convey Hawaiian culture, and many of them feature Japanese-style patterns created by Japanese immigrants.
If that is the case, it is strange that a clay figurine pattern representative of Japan has not existed until now.
