2025年小暑の酒丸。

Sakemaru in the 2025 Shosho era.

It's now July 2025.
The 7th of this month will be the beginning of the season of Shosho.
Xiaoshu comes before the Great Heat.
Just before it gets really hot,
Summer is just beginning.
At our Shinmei Farm,
The harvest of summer vegetables is gradually beginning.

Cherry tomatoes, bell peppers,
Cucumber, arugula...
From now on, eggplant and okra,
We plan to harvest okra, peanuts, and other crops one after another.
Summer is a fun time with lots of harvests.
And speaking of summer...
Horror stuff.
Personally, I can't watch recent Japanese horror movies because they're too scary... (sweat)
American things set in ancient times ,
I love everything about it, including the costumes.
So that's how I'll start today.

Here are some recommended horror movies!

A 22-episode suspense horror drama executive produced by Sam Raimi.
As for the contents...
There's a sense of mystery like Twin Peaks,
It's a little more direct and scary (weird expression: lol)
And what's great is the costume worn by the main character, Caleb !
The setting is a fictional town called Trinity, a rural town in the American South.
Although the age is not specified,
Presumably from the 1960s to 1970s.
The main character, Caleb, is set to be 10 years old.
In other words, an elementary school student from a rural town.
What really helps this production is
It's a striped T-shirt!
Caleb appears in a different striped T-shirt in almost every episode of the 22 episodes.
The beauty of this striped T-shirt really grabs your heart!

So for my blog readers,
I'd like to introduce some vintage striped T-shirts.
For example, something like this.
From a 1955 store catalog.

The leftmost piece on the bottom row is Jacquard.
All the colors are great!
I want to wear a striped T-shirt in this color every day!
And now it's 1958.

The top uses three colors with a thick pitch.
The bottom left has a different border on the chest!
This is a lot of work!
Then in 1967.

It was already a black and white page (sweat)
I guess it's on the decline at this age.
Moreover, there was only one type listed.
In other words…
Caleb from American Gothic might be set in the late 1950s .

I'd love to make a yarn-dyed striped T-shirt like this!
What's more, I want to wear a multi-border look like back then!
And then I thought...
I photographed my personal collection and approached a cut and sew fabric store.

The top is velour with vertical stripes and multi-color!
The one on the left is a full-pattern printed border, and it's in a native style.
On the right is the famous HANG-TEN.

Next are three velour patterns.
This kind of color scheme is my favorite.
I'd like to make it someday.

This is fleece (i.e. sweatshirt material).
Pre-dyed fabrics like this are quite rare.

This is a super special pile material.
When will I be able to come across a color scheme like this?

If you keep talking about "color scheme"...
Finally, the fabric store found it for me!
So it's been a while since I last appeared,
Border pocket T-shirt!

As the name suggests,
There is a matching pocket on the chest.

Notice the stitching on this collar rib!

Can you see how the grain of the fabric is at a 45-degree angle?
This is a unique sewing specification that was used until around the 1950s.
The cylindrical ribbed fabric is cut diagonally around like a mosquito coil,
By wrapping both ends and sewing them together,
The fabric stretches due to the tension of the fabric itself.
This wisdom came from a time when elastic thread was still expensive.
It is also an indicator of vintage.
The color is...

A thin multi-border of navy and mustard on a beige background...

A thin multi-border in wine red and off-white on a charcoal background.

Although it is a delicate item,
The collection is a collection of sentimental items and sewing techniques from the 1950s.
It is a truly exquisite product.
Naturally, I got both colors.
If you make it this maniacal,
I don't think you'll see them around town very often.
(If you wear a striped T-shirt from a national brand, it looks uncool when you see other people wearing it in the street.)
Highly recommended for Xiaoshu!

As I mentioned at the beginning of the blog,
This year's summer vegetables harvested at Shinmei Farm.
It was cooked so deliciously.

First, green peppers.
Poke the fruit with a fork (to prevent it from bursting),
Just bake it in a frying pan.
Once browned, transfer to a serving dish, pour over noodle soup and top with bonito flakes.
It's incredibly delicious!

Smash the cucumber with a rolling pin to split it, rub in salt and let it sit for 10 minutes.
The bowl contains chicken stock, a garlic paste, a little sugar and a can of tuna.
Just mix it all together and it's done in no time.
This is also insanely delicious.
This is also recommended for the Xiaoshu season.

See you later.
