The design is based on button boots, which were popular from the late 19th century to the 1920s.

Originally, button boots had buttons and buttonholes on the instep, which were fastened together before being worn.

However, fastening these buttons was extremely difficult, and special hardware was sold at the time.

Later, the buttonhole process became less common in shoe factories and the zipper was invented, and by the 1930s buttonholes had almost completely disappeared.

The situation was the same in Japanese shoe factories, with many manufacturers hesitant to pay the high cost of buttonhole work, and the practice fell completely out of fashion.

So Dry Bones solved the problem of how the buttons looked by adding studs, and also solved the difficulty of fastening the buttons by adding a side zipper.

In addition, the side zipper is a plastic coil zipper.

By using the latest coil material instead of classic metal, the shoes are sewn in a way that allows the needles of shoe factory sewing machines to pass through easily.

A revival of 19th century design while making full use of 21st century technology.
