The design is based on button boots, which were popular from the late 19th century to the 1920s.
Originally, button boots had buttons and buttonholes on the instep, which were fastened together when worn.
However, fastening these buttons is extremely difficult...and special hardware was sold together with the garment back then.
Later, the buttonhole process became less common in shoe factories and the zipper was invented, and by the 1930s buttonholes had almost completely disappeared.
The situation was the same in Japanese shoe factories, with many manufacturers hesitant to pay high labor costs for buttonholes, and the practice fell into disuse.
So at Dry Bones, we solved the problem of the buttons being visible by adding studs, and also solved the difficulty of buttoning by adding a side zipper.
In addition, a plastic coil zipper is used for the side zipper.
By using the latest coil material instead of classic metal, the shoe is sewn in a way that allows the needle of a shoe factory sewing machine to pass through smoothly.
A revival of 19th century design while making full use of 21st century technology.
You can coordinate it as a classic three-piece set like back then, or you can go for a more casual look by wearing it in casual materials like denim or twill.
The shoes have a unique design, so they are a great item to have fun wearing.
