DB-014 Bandanna “ARGYLE”

100% Cotton

We have incorporated the pattern of an argyle gabardine jacket from the 1950s into a bandana.

The argyle pattern was all the rage in the 1950s.

Originally a knitting pattern that represents Britain, it is a time-honored pattern that has been used on sweaters, socks, and other items.

In America, the knitted pattern became a huge hit as a print, and was used on jackets, shirts, and other items.

This time, we tried using that pattern on a bandana, an item with high advertising effectiveness.

Bandanas were originally made to wipe away sweat and protect against dust, but they have also been used as advertising media due to their large, easy-to-handle square shape.

They have been printed with workwear brand logos and tourist destination names, and have also been used in politicians' advertisements and to display national pride.

The design features argyle prints on all four sides, with finely drawn argyle on the inside.

The only difference from the vintage version is the "FAST COLOR" part. This part also includes the "eye of all things" and "ALL COTTON." Think of it as imitating the elephant mark often seen on vintage bandanas.

The material is of course 100% cotton sheeting.

The bandana measures 23 inches (58.5 cm) x 22 inches (53.3 cm). This is the most common size seen in vintage items, and I think it's the best size for cutting cotton sheeting fabric into bandanas.

The traditional dyeing method is to dye the base and then discharge the dye, but this dyeing method is almost impossible in Japan today (due to pollution issues), so we use a special technique called ``tweezers dyeing'' to make the fabric look the same.

Therefore, just like the originals, it looks dyed the same from the front and back.

All four sides are single-needle sewn in a natural color using discharge dye, aiming for a texture that looks as if the dye has faded with use.

These bandanas were designed by bandana collectors, so try using them thoroughly just like the real thing and create the next generation of vintage items.
