DB-005 Bandanna “CROSS”
100% Cotton
SIZE: 53cm x 58cm
The design is based on the bandana pattern commonly known as the "cross pattern" that was popular in the 1960s.
The cross pattern has long been a popular design among collectors. The name is thought to have come from the arrangement of the small shuriken-like handles on the inside.
What made this pattern so famous was that the leader of the hardcore band Suicidal Tendencies wore it on his head.
In addition to the excellent design, these artists were also fond of using them, so there are currently very few vintage pieces in circulation.
So I wanted to bring it back as Dry Bones, and planned a bandana series.
The design is the same as the vintage, with the only difference being the "FAST COLOR" section. This section also includes the "eye of all things" and "ALL COTTON." Think of it as replicating the elephant mark often seen on vintage bandanas.
The material is of course 100% cotton sheeting.
The bandana measures 23 inches (58.5 cm) x 22 inches (53.3 cm). This is the most common size seen in vintage items, and I think it's the most efficient size when cutting cotton sheeting fabric into bandanas.
The original dyeing method was to dye the base and then discharge the dye, but since this dyeing method is now almost impossible in Japan due to pollution issues, a special method called "tweezer dyeing" is used to dye the fabric so that it looks the same whether you look at it from the front or the back, just like the original.
All four sides are single-needle sewn in a natural color using discharge dye, aiming for a texture that looks as if the dye has faded with use.
These bandanas were designed by bandana collectors, so try using them thoroughly just like the real thing and create the next generation of vintage items.
