This piece is based on a "horseshoe" pattern found on authentic vintage bandanas from the 1950s.

Vintage bandanas from the 1950s have long been sought after by collectors, with Western-themed designs particularly favored by enthusiasts of 1950s culture. Today, these popular items have become increasingly rare on the market.

This trend was fueled by the rise of "dude ranches" (tourist ranches) that gained popularity from the 1940s onward. Western motifs—such as cowboys, horses, and horseshoes—appeared not only in textiles but also in industrial designs for products like footwear and automobiles. By the 1950s, these motifs had permeated mainstream culture, reaching even children through television shows and films.

At DryBones, we wanted to revive a design that so vividly captures the spirit of that era; this piece was created as part of our bandana series with that vision in mind.

The pattern is a faithful reproduction of the vintage original, with the only modification made to the section marked "FAST COLOR."

In this area, we have incorporated an "all-seeing eye" motif, paying homage to the iconic symbols—such as the classic "elephant mark"—often found on vintage bandanas.

Crafted from 100% cotton sheeting, the bandana measures approximately 22 inches (56 cm) by 23.6 inches (60 cm).

Three sides are finished with single-needle stitching using unbleached (ecru) thread, while the fourth side retains the original fabric edge, or "selvage." We have meticulously pursued these details to evoke the authentic feel of a vintage bandana.

As you use it, the color will gradually fade and the fabric will soften, allowing you to enjoy the way it evolves over time.
