The design is based on prisoner jackets worn in Europe before the 1940s.
The original prisoner jacket was mainly used in Germany and Poland before the war. It is a wonderful jacket with a "handmade feel" that is unique to European-made products.
The side seams and two-piece sleeves are sewn with a double chain stitch, and the armholes are sewn with piping. This is a closing concept, and by raising the sleeve height, it gives it a gentleman's clothing look. It is a time-consuming specification that is not often seen in American-made products that are mass-produced.
In addition, the pocket openings are all made of the same material with a patch on the back, so even though it is a prisoner jacket, it is made to be sturdy and simple as men's clothing and workwear. The wide front body has darts, and the extremely narrow back body is beautifully curved and sewn. This jacket makes full use of three-dimensional cutting, and is cut to allow for easy movement.
This prisoner jacket from Dry Bones is made almost exactly the same way as the original prisoner jacket, with beautiful three-dimensional cut, double chain stitching, piping on the armholes, and patches on the pocket openings.
Furthermore, we have adopted black chambray, commonly known as "salt and pepper" fabric, which was popular in the United States as workwear in the 1940s and 1950s. As workwear, it is a marbled charcoal cotton material that does not show dirt easily. It is a wonderful material that changes over time the more you wear it.
At first glance, it looks like a three-button jacket with an out pocket, so you can wear it as a blazer. Or you can wear it as a coverall or work jacket. It can be worn in a variety of ways, so it's a useful jacket to have.
