DJ-1195 Border Smoking Jacket

100% wool

A reproduction of the smoking jacket that was popular in the 1900s and 1920s.

The smoking jacket was originally popular in Europe in the mid-19th century (1800s) and became the prototype for the tuxedo.

The collar was a shawl collar, the sleeves had turn-up cuffs, and the buttons were toggle buttons or a wrap-around belt.

At the time, smoking jackets were a type of indoor wear, and European aristocrats would wear them instead of silk gowns (shawl collars) when having their portraits painted.

Later, in the 20th century, it was re-imported to America, where it became popular as comfortable, relaxing indoor wear.

Although smoking jackets went out of fashion in the 1950s, some enthusiasts still exist today. Among smokers in particular, smoking jackets are said to be another form of formal wear.

Dry Bones has recreated the "funny smoking jackets" that were first imported back to America from Europe.

Avant-garde striped wool Venetian is used for the body, while vibrant plain wool flannel is used for the shawl collar and turned-up cuffs.

The beautifully crafted toggle buttons are made from a lustrous material.

Of course, it can be worn as elegant indoor wear, but pairing it with denim pants or military trousers will take your look to the next level.

For innerwear, you can wear not only stand-up collar shirts, but also grandpa shirts and hoodies for a more casual look.
Because it is such an elegant jacket, it is a fun piece to wear in different ways.
