Bowler hats originate in the UK and are named after the British hat maker William Bowler. They are called derby hats in America and top hats in Japan. Originally a riding hat, they became popular around the world after being worn by many famous people, including Charlie Chaplin, Alex in "A Clockwork Orange," and in Japan, including Nakahara Chuya and Miyazawa Kenji.

The hat is made from wool felt, which is made by hardening wool, and its stiff finish will allow it to maintain its beautiful shape and be loved for many years to come. The crown (the top part of the hat that covers the head) is approximately 11cm, the oval brim is approximately 5cm in front and back, and 4cm wide, the ribbon is approximately 3.5cm, and the piping around the brim is approximately 1.5cm wide.
