Cotton Broad Western Open Shirt

This design is inspired by the design of vintage western shirts from the 1940s.

The material is cotton broadcloth, available in solid black only.

Because it's a plain weave cotton, it can be easily machine washed.

It features distinctive western-style piping on the front and back.

Also known as a western yoke, it is a staple of western shirts.

Then, in the late 1940s, after the end of the Pacific War, western details were deliberately incorporated into open-collar shirts.

This is likely related to the popularity of dude ranches.

The front pockets are also piped crescent pockets, a style commonly seen on western shirts.

Crescent pockets literally translate to crescent moon.

While they are often curved like a crescent moon, a straight design has been deliberately opted for this time.

The cuffs are also piped all the way around, and feature three consecutive western-style buttons.

The buttons are mushroom-shaped sew-on buttons.

Pearl hatches became all the rage from the 1950s onwards, but before that, mushroom-shaped buttons like these were popular.

When worn under a jacket, the western yoke and crescent pockets that peek out look stylish.

Pair this shirt with a ribbon tie or loop tie for a sophisticated western look.

Of course, the shirt also has an impactful design on its own, making it a gem worn by many musicians.
