We've recreated a dressy two-pleat trouser style from the 1950s, made from workwear materials.
The material is a slightly thick, unevenly woven cotton chambray.
In the 1950s, Lee, a leading workwear brand, produced two-pleat trousers using this type of workwear material.
During this era, many men's brands were producing two-pleat trousers.
The most popular materials were rayon Venetian, linen-rayon blends, or wool.
Workwear materials were generally avoided in this style.
Perhaps it was because they weren't suitable for the occasion.
Amidst this trend, Levi's broke away.
Levi's developed numerous two-pleat trousers using workwear materials such as broken twill denim, separate from their five-pocket jeans.
The distinctive wide belt loops are reinforced with belt components for increased durability.
On the right side, a coin pocket is located at the waistband's seam, and all pockets are reinforced with bar tacks for a sturdy and practical construction.
The silhouette is in line with the fashion of the time, with a wide leg and tapered hem.
It pairs well with shorter tops.
It's essentially a pair of two-pleat trousers that can be washed repeatedly, like jeans.
Try coordinating it to feel like a young person from the 1950s.
