DCH-454 Cotton Cloth Casquette
100% Cotton
The design is based on hats that were popular in the 1920s and 1930s.
Originally, this kind of hat is generally called a hunting cap in English, but...
In Japan, when we think of hunting caps, we tend to think of hats with only one piece of fabric. So Dry Bones named this hat with eight pieces of fabric "casquette" (meaning cap in English) after the hats that appeared in old French movies.
The fabric used is cotton cloth, which became popular as a kasuri print in the 1940s and 1950s. Although it is relatively thick, the loose weave makes it breathable, making it perfect for a summer hat.
The piping is made of cotton bias tape, which is designed to apply pressure at an angle, so it is effective at maintaining a shape that wraps around the head.
The inside of the brim is made of the same material as the hat and does not have any interlining, so it will become distorted with use. Unlike new hats, it does not use a plastic interlining, so there is no need to worry about it cracking easily.
The slider uses a stretchy soccer tuck that gently wraps around your head.
The stitching is the same color as the cap, following the very popular work cap style.
Having one is a great idea as it can be combined with a variety of styles.
