The design is based on hats that were popular in the 1920s and 1930s.

Originally, the general term for this type of hat is hunting cap in English, but in Japan, the term hunting cap tends to bring to mind a hat with only one piece of top. So Dry Bones has named this eight-piece hat "casquette" (meaning cap in English), after the hat that appeared in an old French movie.

The fabric used is 10 oz. unevenly yarn cotton denim, which fades with use, making it a fun material to watch as it ages.

It's a single piece, so it's beautifully sewn with the assumption that the inside will be visible. The piping is cotton bias tape. This tape is designed to apply pressure diagonally, so it's effective at maintaining the shape that wraps around the head.

The inside of the brim is made of the same material as the hat and does not have any interlining, so it will become distorted with use. Unlike new hats, it does not use a plastic interlining, so there is no need to worry about it cracking easily.

The slider uses a stretchy soccer tuck that gently wraps around your head.

The stitching is off-white, following the work style of the past.

Having one is a great idea as it can be coordinated with a variety of styles. A denim cap casually tucked into a back pocket is a truly quintessential American scene.
