We designed and produced this product based on a vintage sweat jacket from the 1930s.

In this day and age, jackets made from cut and sewn material like this are very rare.

It was probably a simple winter garment made for sports, with an emphasis on keeping warm. It is thought to be one of the earliest cut-and-sew jackets, which later came to be used as full-zip parkas.

Perhaps for this reason, upon closer inspection there are many interesting details, such as the way the stand collar and upper collar are integrated.

The material is quite thick, a French terry knit with a 26 count yarn on the front and a 2 count extra thick yarn on the back. It has a heavy feel, and once you wash it with water it becomes tightly woven and has a nice look.

I added ribbing in a slightly different color than the main fabric. This is because that's how the vintage sample looked like...

The most likely reason for this is fading over time, with the color bleeding due to differences in the thread structure of the ribbed part.

The buttons are vintage-style with two holes and a notched pattern.

Although it is a casual sweat jacket, it is a very elaborate piece.
