DS-2756 Hairline Half Zip Work Shirt
100% Cotton
Based on rare half-zip work shirts from the 1930s and 1940s.
The front has a half zipper that goes up to the solar plexus.
Shortly after zippers themselves were developed, these designs were created as high-end versions of work shirts to make them easier to put on and take off.
Therefore, the front body is cut separately into left and right pieces which are then sewn together in the center.
(From the 1950s onwards, the half-zip work shirt was simplified to a single piece front.)
The zipper is original and uses Universal brand cotton tape.
It uses off-white cotton tape, which was common on work shirts at the time.
(Probably to accommodate a variety of materials such as chambray and chino cloth.)
The zipper pull is fan-shaped, the top stop of the rail is U-shaped, and the bottom stop is a wire stop, giving it a vintage feel.
It is packed with highlights such as a large chin strap, reinforced pieces under the armpits, and metal cat's eye buttons.
All major parts such as armholes, side seams, and center front body are double chain stitched.
It is carefully sewn and sturdy.
Equipped with flap pockets on both chest.
In particular, there is a pen hole on the left chest pocket flap.
The material is 100% cotton blue hairline chambray.
It is a perfect material for work shirts as it is cool and has a nice firmness.
What's more, this material is deadstock.
I can never make the same thing twice.
