The color of SAND may vary slightly depending on the production period.
The project was inspired by the cap worn by the protagonist Johnny in the 1953 American film "The Wild One," which was about American biker gangs.
The film gained a reputation for depicting the reckless behavior of young men returning from military service, which was a social problem at the time. It was so extreme that it was banned in the UK for a while.
The main character was Marlon Brando, a young actor who was on the rise at the time.
Double-breasted motorcycle jacket, five-pocket jeans, a trim T-shirt, engineer boots, and a cotton twill cap with a leather brim.
The film is in black and white, so the actual color is unknown, but it is clearly a pale-colored cotton twill. I think it is a light gray or khaki, which is an extension of the workwear of the time.
This cap has been reproduced to make it easier to wear.
Rather than using metal accordion-style straps, which are hard to come by, we thought it would be more efficient to make a belt out of the same fabric.
The brim leather is made from thick, shiny cowhide.
We deliberately chose not to add a lining and made it simply with piping.
It has the same construction as caps from the 1950s, with a metal top button and eyelets on both sides.
This is one of Dry Bones' classics, and has been made for nearly 30 years, with occasional changes to the material and color.
Why not try wearing it diagonally to feel like Johnny?
