L/S Print Open Shirt “FISH BONE”

We've recreated the fishbone pattern, a textile from the 1950s, using rayon.

This pattern was originally used on cotton open-collar shirts.

The name "fishbone" comes from the fishbone-like pattern arranged in an atomic style.

Like other atomic style patterns, this textile was all the rage at the time.

Various variations of the atomic style were all the rage in the 1950s, and were used not only on shirts but also on jackets, cut-and-sew tops, and curtains.

The "fishbone" pattern was particularly popular...

It was produced in a variety of colors, from light to dark.

For this Dry Bones collection, we've chosen two easy-to-match dark color combinations.

These are colors that teenagers were competing to wear at the time.

The collar has a long point, but the tip is rounded, in keeping with the late 1950s era.

While California style is often short-sleeved, we've boldly incorporated it into long-sleeved clothing.

The buttons are custom-dyed mushroom-shaped,

The inside of the yoke is lined with cupra satin for improved slippage and durability.

The front and pockets also feature matching patterns.

This exquisite piece is made from smooth rayon, which is hand-cut one piece at a time and sewn to match the pattern.
