DS-2768 Ombre Check 2 Flap Open Shirt
100% Cotton
This is a two-flap open-collar shirt, typical of the 1950s, made with yarn-dyed cotton ombre check, a fabric that was hugely popular at the time.
The design is typical of Dry Bones, with a curved collar and two flap pockets. It is a typical early 1950s design.
However, it is actually made with great attention to detail...
This regular check makes it easy to see, but when viewed from the front you can see that the pocket flaps are raised slightly outward.
The difference was only 5 mm compared to the 12 cm pocket width. By increasing this 5 mm, the man's build appeared to be more "simple and sturdy," which was the style of the time.
On the other hand, if the pocket flaps are completely horizontal, the outer edges will appear to hang down when the garment is worn, making it look flimsy.
Similarly, the collar has a sharp curve at the tip, and is cut so that when the first button is open, the collar appears to rise slightly toward the shoulder. This is how the pattern is made to avoid the appearance of sloping shoulders.
This is a typical, ordinary shirt from the early 1950s, but in fact, it contains the ``secrets of men's clothing''.
The back of the yoke and flap are made of synthetic fiber cupra satin, which is smooth and feels great when worn.
This is a classic ombre check with a monochrome color scheme that was popular at the time. It's stylish on its own, but it also works great as an inner layer for a jacket.
Another advantage is that it is made of washable cotton, so you can wash it in your home washing machine.
