DAG-006 Piercing Tie Bar "SWORD"

Tin, Brass

Total length: Approx. 10.5cm

We have reproduced the piercing tie bar, which was hugely popular in the United States in the 1940s and 1950s.

In the 1940s and early 1950s, neckties were very popular, with hand-painted and geometric patterns being all the rage. Tie bars with a gimmick that made it look like the tie was stuck into the necktie became popular as a way to keep these flashy ties attached to shirts.

Since it looks like it is being stabbed, it is best to use something that is long and pointed. This is why various items such as fencing swords, blue dragon swords, and Japanese swords were made.

The design that Dry Bones has recreated is a medieval European sword. The sword design was borrowed directly from a vintage source.

The material used is an alloy of tin and zinc, making it very robust.

However, the structure of the tie bar has been slightly changed. Many vintage tie bars are clip-type, but many of them have broken springs due to aging, so we made a tie bar (deadstock) made of brass, which is a soft metal, with a gimmick sword attached to it.

This shape gives the product a perfect gimmick that makes it look like the tie is really stuck in when you fasten it with a wide necktie. The shiny finish also gives it a vintage feel of the time.

It's a small item, but because it's such a modest item, you want to choose a design that's playful.

It also makes a great gift.
