I made a striped shirt inspired by the one worn by Jimmy (Robert De Niro) in the movie "Goodfellas."

The film is a Mafia movie directed by Martin Scorsese, and most of the people in the organization are of Italian descent.

Director Scorsese makes the setting clear by having all of his Italian characters wear long point collar shirts.

De Niro, who plays Jimmy, is not Italian but is of Irish descent, so he doesn't wear shirts with long point collars. He consistently wears shirts with classic, slightly curved collars. This has a strong influence on the overall story.

Jimmy, a friend of the main character Henry, was also a member of the New York Mafia. He is a smart, cool guy who is a reliable tough guy among his friends.

However, in the story, he is not of Italian descent and therefore cannot be considered mainstream. His boss, Polly, and his companions, Henry and Tommy, are all of Italian descent, so although their collars are different in fabric and color, they all have the same collar style (a unique long point collar). Director Scorsese's ability to express each character's role in the story through their costumes is truly impressive.

This shirt is reproduced in Dry Bones as worn by Jimmy.

The front placket should normally extend all the way down, but we have intentionally made it shorter to give it a vintage feel.

Also, one thing we couldn't see in the movie was whether or not the suit had pockets, but we decided to include pockets for the wearer's convenience.

Also, while most characters wear double cuffs, De Niro's shirts are consistently single cuffed. This was probably the director's preference, so he stuck to the single cuff style.

The title of the movie, "Goodfellas," is a mafia slang term meaning "comrades within the same organization."

However, the fact that the collar type clearly divided the members into different affiliations adds even more depth to the film.
