DS-2746 Print 2 Flap Open Shirt “VINCENT'S LEO”
100% Cotton
This is a typical 1950s two-flap open-collar shirt made from cotton shirt corduroy. It has a warm, brushed fabric and a classic feel.
The material is an original leopard print cotton corduroy made from a pattern.
This is what is known as "leopard print," but this leopard print is a reproduction of the famous, legendary leopard print (beige) worn on stage by Gene Vincent, a musician active in the 1950s.
At the time, he was wearing this leopard print (acrylic seal material), but we planned and produced the exact same design using cotton corduroy, a natural material.
It also reproduces the off-white base color that exists in vintage versions.
After about 70 years, the same pattern has been reconstructed using natural materials.
The design is a classic Dry Bones style with a long point and two flap pockets. It's a typical 1950s design.
However, it is actually made with great care and attention to detail...
When viewed from the front, the pocket flaps are slightly raised outward.
The figure is just 5 mm for a pocket width of 12 cm.
By raising it by 5mm, the figure would appear to have the "simple and sturdy" shape that men's style at the time sought.
If the pocket flaps are completely horizontal, the outside will appear to hang down when worn, making the shoulders appear sloping.
Similarly, the long-point collar is cut so that when the first button is open, the collar appears to rise slightly towards the shoulders. This helps to prevent the shoulders from appearing sloping.
It's a typical, ordinary shirt from the 1950s, but in fact, it contains the ``secrets of men's clothing.''
When making the shirts, the corduroy is cut and sewn against the grain, which gives the brushed material a matte look and allows the colors to pop beautifully.
The inside of the yoke is made of cupra satin, making it smooth and easy to wear.
