This shirt follows a collar style popular in late 1950s America, using a two-tone design and a vintage print pattern.
The material is cotton broadcloth print with a classic anchor pattern.
From the 1940s onward, anchor patterns reminiscent of the navy became extremely popular, partly due to the influence of the war.
This anchor-patterned cotton broadcloth was discovered as deadstock fabric, made in the USA. It is a highly rare fabric.
The collar style is the Italian collar, popular in the late 1950s.
It's a type of open collar, but with a wider opening, giving it a more masculine look.
The buttons are Japanese-made cat-eye buttons, which were still in existence in the 1950s and were originally intended for export.
They have long been known as buttons with many enthusiasts.
The yoke lining uses cupro satin. It's a smooth and highly absorbent material.
The outer fabric is natural cotton, and can be easily washed at home, making it very useful during the hot summer months.
