DS-2667 Print Flannel Work Shirt
100% Cotton
We took a shirt design from the 1920s and used deadstock printed cotton flannel.
The shape is based on a work shirt from the 1920s.
A pocket on one side, a stitching at the center back, and a front placket that goes halfway down...
The stitching at the center back is a technique normally used for dress shirts. The front placket is designed to be tucked into pants.
It's a relatively dressy design, so even though it's made of printed flannel material which has a strong work-like feel, I've lined it with a different fabric to make it easier to wear.
By attaching a lining to the back of the yoke and the back of the collar, the garment slides more smoothly and reduces strain on the neck.
We also used lining on the back of the cuffs and under the hem to create a sexy look for men's clothing.
The print itself is a primitive American native pattern.
Have fun exploring the gap between textiles and sewing techniques.
Of course, it goes perfectly with American casual materials such as denim.
