These trousers are a reproduction of the two-pleat trousers that were extremely popular in the United States during the 1950s.

Their original name is Hollywood Belt Two-Pleat Trousers.

The Hollywood Belt refers to the style of trousers that was popular in central California during the 1950s.

Normally, trousers have the body and waistband separated, and the seams are sewn with the grain reversed to prevent stretching of the fabric.

However, in these Hollywood Belt trousers of that era, the body of the trousers extends up to the waistband, and two pleats create a beautiful drape.

The side seams are always sewn with a split seam, and slash pockets are often included.

Furthermore, from the late 1940s to the early 1950s, it was fashionable to place double-welt pockets exactly between the pleats and the side seam.

This is a very time-consuming pocket construction method to sew, but we have faithfully reproduced it.

The side seams also feature hand stitching.

While technically decorative stitching that resembles hand-stitching, Dry Bones uses an embroidery machine to recreate this stitching.

The material is 100% rayon gabardine weave, a classic material that has been used continuously since that era.

The belt features a luxurious detail: a rubber anti-slip lining called Russell on the underside.

Suspender buttons are also included, allowing you to enjoy both belt and suspender styles.

In the 1950s, it was worn with a variety of items, including jackets, sweaters, shirts, and cut-and-sew tops.

A hidden gem from Dry Bones.
