DS-2778 S/S Cotton Hawaiian Shirt “FLOWER”
100% Cotton
I made a shirt with an all-over tropical motif that was very popular in America in the 1950s.
In the 1950s, it became popular for middle-class Americans who built their dream homes with gardens in the suburbs to have a "tropical" feel in the wet areas of their homes (kitchens, bathrooms, etc.).
A signature item was the curtains, which were boldly decorated with large, vibrant and exotic plants.
We found some deadstock shirt fabric influenced by this style and used it to create an open-collar shirt.
This textile design is a bit special...
When you look at a portion of it, it is a vivid flower, but when you look at it from a distance, part of the flower looks like the pattern of a butterfly's wing.
In a way, it's like a trick art.
The fabric used this time is American deadstock cotton broadcloth.
We only purchased a small amount of items that were imported into Japan.
The shape is a long point open collar.
In addition, cupra satin is used on the back of the yoke.
The material is smooth and easy to wear, and feels cool and comfortable against the skin.
I focused on the early 1950s style.
This pattern is essential for creating a 1950s American look during the hot summer months.
Since this is deadstock fabric, production is limited.
