This is a reproduction of the Cuban shirt, which has long been worn in Central and South America, but in the style that was popular in the 1950s.

The Cuban shirt was worn in the Caribbean and Mexico before the war and was so popular that it was even used for formal occasions and as a uniform for civil servants.

It is a loose-fitting shirt jacket with an open collar and four large pockets. It has two pleats, one on each side of the front and one at the center back. These pleats may also feature seasonal embroidery or family crests.

In the 1950s, when Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas in the Caribbean, became a popular tourist destination, the Nassau jacket was a popular choice. The Nassau jacket was inspired by the Cuban shirt, a traditional item in the region.

So Dry Bones has reconstructed the Cuban shirt based on the Nassau jacket from the 1950s.

This open-collar shirt jacket features a wide V-zone, four large pockets, and two vertical pleats in the front and one in the back.

This item is made from a refreshing cotton material with horizontal slub patterns woven into it, so decorative embroidery has been eliminated.

In addition to the central pleat, the back has darts on both sides, which, together with the shallow V-yoke, allow for ample movement of the shoulder blades.

The buttons on the placket and pockets are made of genuine Takase shell and are 15mm wide. These buttons are large for a shirt, giving it a jacket-like look.

Pair it with two-pleat trousers for a resort-like look. Pair it with shorts and a straw hat for a sophisticated summer event look.
