This is a reproduction of the Cuban shirt, a style traditionally worn in Central and South America, specifically focusing on the design popular in the 1950s.
This time, we found deadstock fabric with an owl and crescent moon print, which we used.
However, due to the limited total length of fabric, we could only produce two sizes.
In a sense, this is an extremely rare print fabric.
The Cuban shirt was worn in Caribbean countries and Mexico from before the war.
It was so popular that it was used for formal occasions and even as a uniform for civil servants.
It's a loose-fitting, open-collar shirt jacket characterized by four large pockets.
There is one pleat on each side of the front and one pleat in the center back.
Sometimes, seasonal embroidery or family crest embroidery is featured there.
In the 1950s, when Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas in the Caribbean Sea, became a popular tourist destination, the jacket commonly worn there was the Nassau jacket.
The Nassau jacket was inspired by the Cuban shirt, a traditional garment from this region.
Therefore, Dry Bones has reconstructed the Cuban shirt using the 1950s Nassau jacket as its basis.
This shirt jacket features a wide V-neck and an open collar.
It is characterized by four large pockets and printed fabric panels, two in the front and one in the back.
This model is made of cotton and can be easily machine washed at home.
In addition to the central printed panel, darts have been added to both sides of the back.
These, along with the shallow V-shaped yoke, allow for greater freedom of movement in the shoulder blades.
The buttons on the placket and pocket closures are made of genuine Takase shell, 15mm wide.
These larger-than-usual buttons give it a jacket-like appearance.
Pairing it with two-pleat trousers creates a classic resort look.
Alternatively, pairing it with shorts and a straw hat creates a sophisticated summer event look.
