I made an open-collar shirt using a lowbrow textile with lots of lavender bats flying on a pink background.

This fabric is deadstock and made in the USA. It is made of cotton broadcloth and has a smooth texture.

The motif is bats, which might look a little scary, but the background is bright pink and the many flying bats are small, so it really pops. There is also a starburst drawn in white on the background.

The style is an open collar with one pocket, and the collar has a short point with machine stitching, reminiscent of the late 1950s.

The buttons are cat's eye buttons for export. The patterns on the front and pockets match perfectly, making it look like a painting.

Why not evoke memories of the late 1950s, when the easy-to-wear lowbrow pattern and mysterious motifs became art?
