I found some deadstock fabric with zebra print, an animal pattern that was very popular in America in the 1950s, so I decided to make a shirt out of it.

In the 1950s, after the end of World War II, tropical motifs that evoked images of paradise were popular among soldiers returning home.

Flamingos, seahorses, palm trees, etc.

Among these designs, the zebra pattern was also a popular one.

The pattern was easy to incorporate into textiles and was used in many items, including men's shirts and women's dresses.

The fabric used this time is American deadstock cotton broadcloth.

We only purchased a small amount of items that were imported into Japan.

The shape is a short point open collar.

I focused on the late 1950s style.

Furthermore, the patterns on the front body and pockets are matched to perfection, almost to the point of being unbelievable, making it look like a "wearable painting."

This pattern is essential for creating a 1950s American look during the hot summer months.
