The design is based on the Carmel brand's casual sports jacket, which was hugely popular in the 1950s.

Collectors call this the "Nassau jacket," a casual jacket unique to the 1950s. The Carmel version is known to have been worn by many musicians of the time.

The upper collar is larger than the lower collar, and the box pleats go straight down from the chest.
Cuffs and side vents in the shape of a lightning bolt...many such intricate designs were made with the light and flexible fabrics of the time.

This time around, Dry Bones maintains the same shape as the original Carmel brand, but is made from high-quality silk-blend twill fabric.

It is a supple twill material made from a cotton wool and silk blend that occasionally has a sheen to it.

Like the vintage items of that time, it has shoulder pads, but overall it is made like an unconstructed jacket, and its distinctive feature is that it is extremely light and flexible.
