This design is based on the Carmel brand's casual sports jacket, which was hugely popular in the 1950s.

Collectors call this "Nassau jacket" a casual jacket unique to the 1950s. The Carmel version is known as a jacket worn by many musicians of the time.

The upper collar is larger than the lower collar, and the box pleats go straight down from the chest.
Cuffs and side vents shaped like lightning bolts...many such elaborate designs were made using the light and flexible fabrics of the time.

This Dry Bones collection maintains the same shape as the original Carmel brand, but is made from high-quality silk-blend twill.

It is a supple twill material made from a blend of cotton wool and silk, with occasional glimpses of sheen.

Like the vintage items of the time, it has shoulder pads, but overall it is made like an unconstructed jacket, and is characterized by its lightness and flexibility.
