In other words, award jackets with collars only existed in the 1950s.

Also, half-length melton jackets known as car coats overwhelmingly have ribbed collars.

Therefore, this all-melton, half-length, collared jacket is extremely rare.

This rare jacket from that time was planned and produced in only one color, black, which was also rare at the time.

Details such as the white piping, the change pocket on the side, and the ticket pocket on the left sleeve were created with a "motorsports" image in mind.
