DJ-1157 Sunningdale Denim Work Jacket
100% Cotton
Sizes 38, 40, and 42 are sold out.
This is a reproduction of a very unique denim chore jacket that existed around the 1920s.
The first thing that stands out is the diagonally attached pocket on the left chest. This pocket is a combination of a pencil pocket and a watch pocket. By attaching it diagonally, a short horizontal stitch acts as a latch to prevent the pocket watch from falling out.
Right next to it is a buttonhole for attaching a pocket watch fob chain, making it a truly well-thought-out design.
Also, unusually for a jacket of that time, there is a small coin pocket on the right chest, and an inner pocket on the back. Both are home plate shaped, so items inside will not fall out easily.
It has four buttons on the front and a large, rounded hem, making it a cut chosen by people who work a lot.
And the most distinctive detail is undoubtedly the belt on the back and the multiple tucks above it.
This classic sports jacket detail is named "Sunningdale" because it resembles the rays of the rising sun. When placed on the back, it reduces restrictions on shoulder blade movement, making it much easier to move your arms.
The fabric is 10oz unevenly threaded denim with neps. It is a material that will fade vertically over time.
This rare chore jacket brings together the best of 1920s design, making it a stylish piece that can be worn not only casually but also when tied up.
