DC-690 W Gazet Sweatshirt
100% Cotton
Size 40 is sold out.
The products are designed and produced based on vintage sweatshirts from the 1940s and 1950s.
The material is 100% cotton.
The front side is knitted using 30-count yarn, and the back side is knitted using 10-count yarn.
The ribbed fabric is needle-punched, which was quite rare even at the time.
By using ribbing with randomly woven needles, the tension is loose.
This atmosphere gives it an even more vintage feel.
In addition, the ribbing around the neck is cut on the bias and wrapped around and sewn at an angle of approximately 45 degrees.
This cutting and sewing method is unique to the 1940s and 1950s.
It is cut in a spiral shape to eliminate waste and sewn with skilled techniques.
It also uses a double gusset sewing method, in which a V-shaped cut is made at the front and back and the ribbed fabric is inserted into it.
Although this was the most common sewing method at the time, it is already a style from 70 to 80 years ago.
The double gusset itself is an icon of classic style.
Sewing is done using four-needle, three-needle, or two-needle sewing machines in the most appropriate way depending on the sewing area.
The armholes in particular are roughly cut almost straight up, just like those used at the time.
By doing this, when you wear it, the shoulder line will fall down to your upper arms.
Although it is a small detail, it reproduces the cutting and sewing methods that allow for a style unique to that time.
In this way, we have taken various approaches to evoke the vintage sweatshirts of the past.
The outer yarn is made in two colors, ash gray and oatmeal, and is made using a labor-intensive method called "pre-dyed yarn."
These two colors have been used since then for gym clothes and work clothes in schools and the military.
In other words, it is a traditional American casual color.
You can wear it alone with jeans or a denim jacket, or you can wear it over a shirt as a sweater with the collar out, or cut off the sleeves and wear it as a thick T-shirt.
Or you can go for something cool and add hand-drawn illustrations and text, just like people did back then.
This is a classic item that can be enjoyed in a variety of ways.
