DJ-1110 Western Plain Style Satin Jacket
100% Rayon
This design is based on the western gabardine jacket that was all the rage in the 1950s.
In the 1950s, with the rise of dude ranches, Western fashion became all the rage, especially on the West Coast.
In the 1950s, rock and roll emerged among young people, combining hillbilly western music with the blues of black music.
The equation of rock and roll = Western style was established.
This was also the most prosperous period in postwar America, and clothing made extensively from rayon, an artificial silk that had just been developed within the military, was mass-produced.
It was against this foundation that the jacket was born: the Western-style rayon gabardine sports jacket.
Dry Bones has designed and produced this item based on the vintage design, with further improvements. The fabric is still rayon, just like the original, but the weave is satin, not gabardine. It has a glossier finish, which gives it better color retention, and its thickness gives it a heavier feel.
The special piping that was produced at the time is also reproduced. This accessory is made by folding and sewing ultra-fine rayon grosgrain tape alternately in black and white, which took a lot of time and effort.
The lining is crimson, expressing a chic 1950s style.
The front buttons and cufflinks are pearl hatch, just like the originals. They are also tetra pearl buttons with a diamond-shaped design and white pearls (paste) inside. These buttons have been popular since the 1950s.
We are proud to say that we have beautifully reproduced the vintage style while also evolving it.
