DJ-1196 WW2 First Type Denim Jacket
100% Cotton
Sizes 38, 40, and 42 are sold out.
This single-pocket denim jacket, which was only produced in the 1940s, has been reproduced with Dry Bones' interpretation.
As they were called "pleated blouses" or "riveted blouses" at the time, they had symmetrical pleats on the front and rivets for reinforcement at the pocket openings and cuffs.
This was during the height of World War II, and there were material restrictions on various items within the United States.
Material restrictions have also been imposed on denim jackets, with the number of buttons being reduced.
At the time, denim jackets were made with a narrow denim fabric, so some sizes did not have enough space in the back, and sizes 44 and above had a seam in the center of the back, a method known as a "T-back."
At Dry Bones, this T-back style is available in all sizes, creating a more "rare size" feel.
In addition, the length is slightly longer than the vintage version from that time.
This is because the lengths of the garments from that time were extremely short, so we adjusted the length to suit modern bottoms.
The denim is made of 13.5 oz uneven yarn denim with a 7 count warp thread and a 6 count weft thread.
Enjoy the changes over time, such as the vertical fading that is unmistakable from the original.
Dry Bones' First Type War Model...
We simplified the design by removing the pocket flaps, reduced the number of front buttons by one to reduce the amount of metal used, and simplified the design by changing the front buttons to a generic laurel pattern, etc.
On the other hand, as a change from the existing war model...
The pocket position has been slightly raised (to balance out the reduced number of buttons), the reinforcing stitching on the back strap has been changed (due to the change in the buckle itself), and most importantly, the stitching on the front pleats has been doubled to make them stronger.
The originals were single-layered, so we kept that style, but we received a lot of complaints that they kept tearing. We took this as proof that our customers loved the item, so we tried to make a positive change.
In fact, a certain brand's wartime model also took advantage of material restrictions to improve the quality of their denim. I have also modified this "smart" aspect.
This is the first unveiling of Dry Bones' "war model."
